This person was one of five people taken from the jail at Biersburg, Tennessee, and shot to death by a crowd of citizens on January 29, 1869, according to a brief item in The Albany Register published February 6, 1869. The report says nearly all of the citizens took part in the shooting and made no attempt to disguise themselves. The other four people were taken from the same jail and shot in the same incident.
