A man held at Mansfield Correctional Institution in Mansfield, Ohio, was attacked by another person held at the prison in a recreation area on August 24, 2017. He was taken to a local hospital and then to a hospital in Columbus, where he died the next day, August 25. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is investigating, has said the attack was an assault by another person held there. His name has not been released, and no family accounts have been reported.
