A Black man, whose name and age are not recorded, was taken from the jail at Clarksville, Arkansas, and hanged, according to a brief item in the Findlay Jeffersonian published on November 15, 1878. The item gives the date of death as November 6, 1878. It does not say who took him from the jail or whether jail staff resisted or handed him over.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The Findlay Jeffersonian reported that a man was taken from the Clarksville, Arkansas jail and hanged.
