A man held in the custody of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office died on June 1, 2022, after a shooting at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where he was receiving treatment. Dayton police say he took a security guard's gun, shot the guard, and then shot himself in the parking lot, and the guard also died.
