A 73-year-old man died at 5:50 p.m. on July 1, 2016, in the hospice unit of Franklin Medical Center, a prison hospital run by the Ohio prison system. Prison officials did not release his name, citing his health and privacy. A relative who visited him near the end said he perked up while they talked. A volunteer said staff made sure someone was with patients at all times, and hospice nurse Felicia Nnadi was described as working to keep him comfortable.
