A man died in March 2020 at a privately run state prison in south-central Tennessee. Other people held at the prison said he had flu-like symptoms and that many people around him were sick at the time. The state's official count lists four prisoner deaths from COVID-19, but people held there said they doubt that count, and that some deaths were attributed to strokes or other ailments.
