A man held at the Hardeman County Correctional Facility in Whiteville, Tennessee, died on September 14, 2019. Officers responding to a call for help from his cell found him unconscious, and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Tennessee Department of Correction is investigating, and the prison was placed on lockdown. His name and cause of death had not been released.
