A 31-year-old woman from Florissant died on February 20, 2012, in her shared cell at the St. Charles County Jail, where she had been held for only a few days. St. Charles County spokesman John Sonderegger said she apparently hanged herself with a sheet tied to the railing of a bunk bed. The Sheriff's Department is investigating the death, and a report is due to the state Department of Corrections within 30 days.
