According to Senator Robert F. Wagner, as reported by The Detroit Tribune on July 2, 1938, a second unnamed person was taken from a jailhouse and killed by a mob in July 1937. Wagner said the same mob had earlier taken another person from that jail. The speech gives no name, location, or account of how the jail staff responded.
