A 34-year-old woman from Ann Arbor was found dead in her cell at the Washtenaw County Jail in June 2019, after returning from a court appearance. Her name was withheld pending family notification. Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derrick Jackson said there were no signs of foul play and that the death does not appear to be a suicide. Police and the sheriff's office are investigating, and an autopsy to determine the cause of death was underway.
