The sheriff's office said a man held at the Onondaga County Justice Center in Syracuse was found unconscious in his cell late on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was pronounced dead after jail medical staff and an ambulance crew responded. The sheriff's office has not released his name. The Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
