A man held at the Oneida County jail in Oriskany, New York, died on July 5, 2026, after he was found unresponsive in his cell on a Sunday morning. He was taken to Wynn Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office said his name would not be released until his next of kin were notified. The sheriff's office, the New York State Commission of Correction and the state Attorney General's Office are investigating the death, and the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the jail.
