A 42-year-old man was held at the Madison County jail in Huntsville, Alabama, and was pronounced dead at Huntsville Hospital on August 31, 2019. Investigators and Lieutenant Donny Shaw said he was found hanging from his bunk with a piece of jail clothing during a cell check, and that officials recorded no earlier suicidal statements or attempts while he was in jail. Officials have not released his name. Sheriff Kevin Turner said his staff's thoughts were with the man's family.
