A 40-year-old man died on June 16, 2026, in his cell at the Tarrant County Jail in Texas. The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said a detention officer found him kneeling beside his bed and unresponsive during a routine cell check, and he was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital. He has not been publicly identified pending notification of next of kin. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
