A 23-year-old woman held at York County Prison in Pennsylvania died on September 21, 2014, after hanging herself with a bed sheet in her cell. The York County coroner's office, led by Coroner Pam Gay, ruled the death a suicide and said she was not on suicide watch at the time. According to the coroner's office, she was found about 20 minutes after a routine guard check.
