A man in his fifties died on October 15, 2020, at a hospital, where he had been since August 31 after being held at SCI Camp Hill in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections said he died of COVID-19, the first death from the virus at the prison and the twelfth among people in state custody. His name was not published. Attributing the cause of death to the virus rests on the department's own statement.
