A person held at the Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility in Kansas died in late April 2019. The Kansas Department of Corrections said contraband drugs could be involved, but the substances were not identified and autopsy and laboratory results were still pending. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Corrections are investigating the death.
