A man, 53, died on October 26, 2020, at East Moline Correctional Center, in the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections. The death was reported to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, which does not publish the names of the people who died. The Illinois Department of Corrections reported the manner of death as natural causes.
Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness. The Illinois Department of Corrections said he died of COVID-19, and the correctional officers' union said the men died at area hospitals.
