Tyrin Meeks
Tyrin Meeks, 31, died on June 28, 2026, at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, California, where he was held in the custody of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The department says staff found him unresponsive in his cell during an early-morning count around 3 a.m. and that he was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m. The department is investigating his death as a homicide and has placed his cellmate in restricted housing pending that investigation. The Office of the Inspector General has been notified.
