Tyrel James Grant
Tyrel James Grant, 31, died on December 4, 2025, while held at the Del Norte County Jail. According to the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office, a correctional officer found him in medical distress during a cell check, and he was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics arrived. The Sheriff's Office said it found no signs of trauma or assault, and the cause of death is pending an autopsy conducted outside the county. Sheriff Scott expressed sympathy for Grant's family, who had been notified.
