Tyler Lanier
Tyler Lanier died on September 5, 2021, while held at Scotland Correctional Institution in Scotland County, North Carolina. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety said he was found unresponsive in his cell around 9:30 p.m. that Sunday and was pronounced dead around 10 p.m. The department said the death appeared to be a suicide and that it is conducting its own investigation alongside law enforcement.
