Trista Schaefer
Trista Schaefer, 36, was held at the Douglas County Jail in Nebraska when she needed emergency medical care on October 28, 2020. Department of Corrections staff and fire department personnel responded, and she was taken to Nebraska Medicine, where she died. The Douglas County Department of Corrections has not said what medical emergency led to her treatment, and a grand jury is set to examine her death.
