Trevyn Smith
Trevyn Reed Smith, 32, was the career rushing leader at Weber State University, where his former coach remembered him as one of his favorite people. He was arrested in downtown Salt Lake City and held at the Salt Lake County Jail, and on July 4, 2019, the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said he suffered a medical incident there and was taken to a hospital, where he died. Sergeant Kevin Hunter described the cause only as a medical incident. South Salt Lake police and the jail are investigating the death, and no findings have been released.
