Trevor William George
Trevor William George, 42, of Santa Cruz, died in his cell at the Santa Cruz Main Jail on Saturday, August 12, 2023. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office's forensic pathologist determined that he died of asphyxia by hanging and ruled the death a suicide. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reported that this was the jail's seventh in-custody death since 2019, and the fourth involving self-harm in that period.
