Travis L. Brandon
Travis L. Brandon, 38, of Columbus, died on August 23, 2020, at the Delaware County Jail in Ohio, after about five days there. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office said he was found hanging in his cell with a wrap he had from an earlier injury, and that a corrections officer had checked on him about 10 minutes before. Jail staff said they had screened him for self-harm risk before his death and that he had passed the screening. His death was the first of two suicides at the jail in just over five weeks, and the jail later replaced ventilation grates that people had used to harm themselves.
