Travis Hutchins was 34 years old, and his sister, Denise Hutchins-Williams, is heartbroken that guards did not protect him. He had been stabbed before: in 2016 he sued prison officials for failing to protect him, and his sister says he was stabbed again in 2020 with no officers in sight. On Thursday, October 7, 2021, another man attacked him with a weapon in a dormitory at Bibb Correctional Facility, and he died. His sister said another man held at the prison tried to stop his bleeding.
