Tirhas Tesfatsion
Tirhas Tesfatsion, 47, was found dead near the showers in the female housing unit of the Lynnwood Jail on July 13, 2021, less than 48 hours after she was booked there. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner ruled her death a suicide. Family and friends say the investigation has not been thorough enough and have pressed the Lynnwood City Council for answers. Kirkland Police said they are still investigating and will refer their findings to the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and the state Attorney General's office said it cannot investigate without a referral.
