Timothy Tyree
Timothy Tyree, 46, died at Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield, South Dakota, on November 17, 2025. Officials say he was found unresponsive in his bed and taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. The state attorney general's office has described the death as a suspected drug overdose and ordered an autopsy. Attorney General Marty Jackley said the death led to indictments of 11 people on drug distribution charges, including a former prison kitchen contract worker, and said numerous people at the prison were sick from K2 that day.
