Died in prison
Timothy Sampson Byrd
Timothy Sampson Byrd, 35, died at Harnett Correctional Institution in North Carolina in November 2024. The N.C. Department of Adult Correction said he was found unresponsive in his cell at about 11 p.m. on Monday, November 4. He was taken to a local medical facility and pronounced dead shortly after midnight. The department said law enforcement and the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner had been notified and were investigating, and the cause and manner of death had not yet been determined.
