Timothy Michael Kulp
Timothy Michael Kulp was an 18-year-old who had enrolled as a freshman at Penn State, and his family said he had been attending his classes all week. His father said he had been a model child until emotional problems and depression began near the end of his senior year of high school, and that he had struggled with depression for months. He was held in a temporary cell at Centre County Prison in Bellefonte, where officers found him hanging from a shoelace tied to a window bar, and he was pronounced dead at Centre Community Hospital shortly after midnight. Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers ruled the death a suicide, and the warden said staff saw no sign he was considering suicide.
