Thomas Myers
Thomas Myers was being taken by officers to the Idaho County jail when a masked mob that outnumbered them overtook the party near White Bird, Idaho, on June 2, 1904. The Spokesman-Review reported that the mob took him from the officers' custody and lynched him, and that the officers rode on to Grangeville. The Idaho County Free Press said Deputy Sheriff Seay and a constable had set out with him after rumors of a lynching circulated, and that the mob seized him on the road. The Elk City Mining News, reprinting the Idaho County Press, reported that he was hanged from a tree and shot, and that no arrests were made. Accounts differ on how the officers responded and on how he died.
