Thomas Lee, 49, died on January 22, 2020, while held at Mississippi State Penitentiary in Sunflower County, Mississippi. He was found hanging in his single-person cell on a Wednesday morning, and guards cut him down. Sunflower County Coroner Heather Burton said the injuries appear consistent with ligature hanging, and he was pronounced dead at 10:47 a.m. The official cause and manner of death remain pending investigation.
