Thomas Jones, 45, died on July 12, 2026, at a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, while held at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services announced the death, and according to the department a grand jury will investigate it, as it does for deaths in the department's custody. No cause of death has been released.
