Thomas Edwards

Thomas Edwards, 65, died on February 14, 2009, at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, where he had been moved in December 2008 for hospice care after more than 22 years at San Quentin State Prison. His former public defender said he suffered from lung cancer and was in a lot of pain in his last years. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said he died of natural causes.

Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness. Prison officials said he died of natural causes, and his former public defender said he had lung cancer and was in a lot of pain in his last years.
