Thomas Curry
Thomas Curry was an 18-year-old held at the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida, having been there less than a month when he died in 1925. According to the coroner's report, his skull was crushed from an unknown cause, and his body was found along railroad tracks near Chattahoochee after he tried to run away from the school. Philadelphia cemetery records say he was hit by a train, and his family buried him there at Old Cathedral Cemetery, where a Catholic service was held. When University of South Florida researchers exhumed his casket in 2014, they found no remains, and the cause of his death remains disputed and unresolved.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined (disputed). The coroner's report listed a crushed skull from an unknown cause, while school officials told Philadelphia cemetery records he was hit by a train, and USF investigators later called the death suspicious.
