Thomas Capano
Thomas Capano, 61, a once-prominent attorney, died on Monday, September 19, 2011, in his cell at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna, Delaware. Officials initially said he apparently died of natural causes, that foul play was not suspected, and that his body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office as standard procedure. The state medical examiner later attributed his death to sudden cardiac arrest, and found atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, with obesity as a contributing factor.
