Executed
Theodore Baker
Theodore Baker was being held in the jail at Springer, New Mexico, in May 1887. The Sun reported that a mob overpowered the guards, took him from the jail and hanged him from a telegraph pole. A railroad track walker found him and cut him down, and he regained consciousness after doctors treated him. The same report says he was executed at Springer the day it was published, and it does not explain how that relates to the hanging.
