Terrence Smith
Terrence Smith, 55, died on Aug. 30, 2023, at the St. Louis City Justice Center, where he was being held. His daughter, Jasmine Smith, said he died unexpectedly inside the jail and that her family wants answers. KSDK reported in November 2023 that autopsy results were still pending. A 2025 STLPR article attributed his death to high blood pressure and heart problems, and the city's Detention Facilities Oversight Board sent a member to visit the jail the next day.
