Teri Gaston, 41, of Joplin, died on January 6, 2026, while held at the Webb City Jail in Webb City, Missouri. Police say she was alone in her cell before officers found her unresponsive on Tuesday evening, as they were preparing to transport her to the Jasper County Detention Center. The Jasper County Coroner's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating, and an autopsy was scheduled for January 7. The cause and manner of death had not been released in the sources.
