Tawan Tatro
Tawan Tatro, 41, of Dodge City, died on September 11, 2026, at the scene along Interstate 70 near Solomon in north-central Kansas, after a chase and traffic stop by law enforcement. Deputies had placed him in the back of a patrol car, and the Saline County Sheriff's Office said he showed a change in breathing that became an emergency. The sheriff's office said he died at the scene. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death as an in-custody death, and the cause has not been determined.
