Tavar O. Peoples, 24, of Effingham, was found dead in his cell at the Florence County jail in South Carolina at about 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014. The jail and investigators are looking into his death, and an autopsy was to be performed at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. No cause of death had been announced when the report was published.
