Tameka Simpson
Tameka Simpson died on January 17, 2018, at Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, after being taken there from the Hampton Roads Regional Jail for treatment. She had been held at the jail since July 2017. The Virginia Board of Corrections lists pneumonia and cardiac arrest as the cause of her death. A jail spokesperson said the medical examiner would determine the cause of death.
