Stevie Lamar Fields
Stevie Lamar Fields, 60, was held on death row at San Quentin State Prison in California, where he had been since 1979. According to the Los Angeles Times, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said he died in his single cell early on February 28, 2017. Paramedics tried to revive him and pronounced him dead about half an hour later. The department said an autopsy would determine the cause of death, which remains pending.
