Steven Spears, 54, was executed by lethal injection by the State of Georgia on November 16, 2016, at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution listed him among the people Georgia executed that year, as the state used its death chamber more often. The Department of Corrections' own record classes the death as a homicide.
