Steven Sayer
Steven Sayer died on November 12, 2006, while held at the Hardin County Jail in Eldora, Iowa. A local newspaper report says he was found unresponsive in his cell on that Sunday, and that jail staff began CPR before he was taken by ambulance to Grundy County Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour after arrival. A preliminary autopsy by the Iowa Medical Examiner's Office found that he died by hanging, which the office classed as suicide. The sheriff's office asked the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation to review the death.
