Steven Nelson
Steven Lawayne Nelson was a laborer who had left high school, and he had recently married while on death row, according to KFDM. The State of Texas executed him by lethal injection at the state penitentiary in Huntsville on February 5, 2025, when he was 37, and he was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m. His attorneys had appealed, state and federal courts denied those appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a last-day request to block the execution. Before his execution he pleaded for mercy, KFDM reported.
