Steven Michael Woods
Steven Woods was executed by lethal injection at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville, Texas, on the evening of September 13, 2011, and was pronounced dead at 6:22 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In his final statement, he maintained that he had not killed anyone and said the execution was wrong. Earlier, he told the Associated Press he was terrified of the execution but tried to be realistic, and said he had seen many friends walk to the gurney. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected his last appeal earlier that day.
