Died in jail or a lockup
Steven Hall
Steven Hall, 39, of Seaside, died on April 7, 2023, while held at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas. The Sheriff's Office said deputies found him in medical distress in his cell. He was taken to a hospital, where he died about three hours later, according to the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office Investigations Division is investigating, with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office Coroner Unit assisting with the autopsy, and the cause and manner of death are pending.
