Steven H. Schmitt
Steven H. Schmitt, 55, of Ocklawaha, died on October 20, 2018, in the medical pod area of the Marion County Jail, where he had been held for more than a year. He was taken to Florida Hospital Ocala, where he was pronounced dead. The Sheriff's Office said the death is considered an apparent suicide and is under investigation.
