Steven Blackshear
Steven Blackshear, 54, was held at the Montgomery County Jail in Dayton, Ohio, beginning in January 2023. Within days of arriving he showed signs of medical distress, and two days after he entered the jail he was found dead in his cell. A sheriff's office risk management report says that jail staff moved him into the general population while he was showing signs of opiate and benzodiazepine withdrawal.
